How Neuromodulators Work
Neuromodulators are injectable treatments that temporarily relax the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles. Common treatment areas include the forehead, frown lines between the brows, crow's feet, and brow lifting. Neuromodulators can also be used to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), jaw tension (TMJ), and for lip flipping.
Please note: Neuromodulators are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for those with certain neurological conditions. This will be assessed at your consultation.

How Dermal Fillers Work

Pre- & Post-care
Before Treatment

Avoid blood-thinning medications (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve) and supplements (fish oil, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, garlic, Omega-3) for 1 week before treatment. Do not stop any prescribed medication without consulting your doctor first

Avoid retinoids, retinols, glycolic acid, and AHAs 3 days before your appointment

Avoid waxing, bleaching, or hair removal in the treatment area 3 days prior

Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment

Arrive with clean skin. We will remove any makeup before treatment

Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores, any neurological conditions, allergies, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Inform your provider of all medications and supplements you are currently taking
Important Note
These guidelines are a general reference. Every client and treatment is unique and your Registered Nurse may adjust instructions based on your specific needs. Always follow the guidance provided at your consultation and reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
After Treatment

Some redness, swelling, tenderness, and mild bruising is normal and should resolve within a few days

Gently exercise the treated muscles for 1–2 hours following neuromodulator treatment. Practice expressions like frowning or raising your brows

Stay upright for at least 4 hours following neuromodulator injections. Avoid lying down or bending forward
-
Apply a cold compress (no pressure) to reduce swelling and bruising as needed

Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours
-
Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, saunas, and hot tubs for 24–48 hours
-
Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours post-treatment

Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated for the first 1–2 nights following filler treatment

Avoid pressure on the treated area. That means no tight hats, goggles, or facial massage for 1–2 weeks
-
Wait at least 2 weeks before scheduling any skin care treatments, lasers, or peels in the treated area

Use Tylenol (acetaminophen) for any discomfort and avoid Aspirin and Ibuprofen

Apply SPF 30 or higher and avoid prolonged sun exposure until any redness or swelling has resolved

Contact us immediately if you experience unusual pain, vision changes, skin discolouration, or anything that concerns you
